Tikva's Jewish University of Odessa - Class of 2012

Activist:

This June, twenty-seven students graduated from Tikva's Jewish University of Odessa - an amazing achievement considering most were orphaned from a young age and rescued by Tikva from severe poverty, neglect and abuse. Close to 50% of Tikva’s 2012 graduating class have already found jobs in their fields and are starting to live as independent young adults, something they could not possibly have conceived, living on the streets or impoverished homes all those years ago. Members of the incredible class of 2012 are pursuing careers in education, law, management, biology, design, translation, and Jewish studies.

Here in Odessa, these fresh graduates will continue working within the ever-growing Jewish community, making sure others receive the tremendous kindness previously extended to them. So many barely knew they were even Jewish before arriving at Tikva, and it warms the heart to see them develop into contributing members of society who will soon begin their own Jewish families rooted in the timeless values Tikva taught them. A big Mazal Tov to each and every one of them!
